Refining adds to DEF on armor and hats, one point per level up to +10. The other stats stay as they are.

How to get Krakenhide Plate
- Kraken: a 5% chance per kill to drop one random item of 6 from the Rare set.
- Leviathan: a 5% chance per kill to drop one random item of 6 from the Rare set.

It sells back for 13,000 coins.
Krakenhide Plate in the forge
Any three Rare armor pieces make one Rare armor piece of your choice, from any biome whose boss you have beaten. The biome of the item you pick sets the price:

Salvaging Krakenhide Plate returns 10 steel and 7 mithril; a refined item returns more.

Like every armor piece, Krakenhide Plate can hold up to 3 gems in its sockets and one card: a DEF card.
Class bonus in duels
