Gems
Gems go into the sockets of your gear and add a stat to the item that holds them. This page lists every gem with its Grand version, how often each one drops, and what sockets cost.

How gems drop
Every monster kill has a 1% chance to drop a gem, from level 7 on, and a boss kill rolls for a bonus gem on top. Which gem you get is weighted: the share column shows how often each one comes up among all gem drops.
Sockets
Sockets are opened at the forge, one at a time and once per item. The later ones need a higher player level:
| Socket | Cost to open | Player level |
|---|---|---|
| First | 500 coins | 1 |
| Second | 20 crystals | 20 |
| Third | 50 crystals | 30 |
Putting a gem into a socket costs 500 coins. Taking it out again costs 1,000 coins or 5 crystals (3,000 coins or 15 crystals for a Grand gem); the gem comes back whole and the socket stays open.
Grand gems and selling
3 identical regular gems fuse into one Grand gem of the same kind. A loose gem you do not need sells for 1,000 coins, a Grand gem for 3,000.
Frequently asked
How do you get gems in Turbo Tap Masters?
Gems drop from monsters: a 1% chance per kill, starting on level 7. Bosses roll for a bonus gem, and chests can contain gems too.
How many gems can one item hold?
Up to 3. Every weapon, armor piece and hat has its own sockets, and each socket is opened once.
What is a Grand gem?
A stronger version of a regular gem. Grand gems drop rarely, and 3 identical regular gems can be fused into one.
Can you take a gem back out?
Yes. Taking a gem out costs 1,000 coins or 5 crystals, or 3,000 coins or 15 crystals for a Grand gem. The gem comes back whole and the socket stays open.
Which gems only work for certain classes?
Garnet (Warrior and Paladin), Jade (Paladin and Priest), Sapphire (Mage and Priest), Amethyst (Rogue), Moonstone (Rogue and Mage). The other gems work for every class.
